We had a great time celebrating Jackie + Burak on at their shower on Friday night! Jackie is one of my oldest friends. We grew up in the same neighborhood and went to preschool together and have been close ever since. To celebrate her upcoming wedding in Estonia (the country on the Baltic sea), Kara, Erika and I threw her and Burak a shower!
It was fun to create fun ways to display their pictures from around the world. Burak is from Turkey and the couple lives in France right now, but met in Spain when they were both living there. They have been all over the world together!
We bought a roll of burlap ribbon and attached black and champagne ribbon to it, before hanging pictures from it.
We also made a classic Congratulations sign!
For drinks for the party we served:
- water with lemons + limes
- red wine
- white wine
- beer
- red sangria (the couples fave)
Caramel and cheese popcorn from Costco is always a party favorite!
Pesto Tortellini Skewers for an appetizer.
Classic microwave popcorn – Jackie’s favorite food!
For dinner we did a simple menu that was made earlier in the day to maximize our time at the party.
Fresh french bread and multigrain bread
Green Beans and Almonds
Classic Caesar Salad
Roasted Vegetable Orzo (recipe this week)
Double Chocolate Brownies, Candy Bar Cookies & Lemon Bars
Anna matched the Bride and was excited to be included at the party.
More pictures and recipes to come!
Everything looked classy and delicious!
Dear Ali,
We had such a wonderful time! You, Erika & Kara did an amazing job putting it all together! What beautiful pictures and wonderful memories to cherish for always. Every party-goer keeps commenting to us on how delicious all the food was, too!!! Thank you again! We love you, and as my Aunt Paula said, you are indeed “the Hostess with the Most-ess”!
Lots of love,
Jackie & Burak

You look great. Good luck with your pregnancy and have a great summer!!! You probably heard that Tim got married a few weeks age. It was beautiful and he requested my now called “mammy cookies” for everyone at the rehearsal dinner, so I made 90 huge ones for favors at the rehearsal dinner!! You know how I love to bake.
