Happy Cinco de Mayo Weekend!

In the spirit of Cinco de Mayo, I have a fun drink to share with your weekend guests or Derby party friends! It’s light and refreshing but full of great smooth flavor. I was recently sent a sample of 901 Silver Tequila to try in a recipe for Spring. After tasting it straight from the bottle, I was impressed with how smooth it was and excited to use it. So far, it has not made it further than into a glass with some ice and fruit but I am planning on making spicy tequila shrimp this week.

A little info about 901 Tequila:

In a category ruled by clichés, 901 Silver Tequila is tequila re-imagined. 901 Silver Tequila is triple distilled using only 100% Blue Weber Agave, water and a proprietary yeast that helps give 901 its unique flavor and signature smoothness. The recipe for 901 Silver Tequila took more than three generations to finally come to life. The original recipe was crafted by Don Enrique over 60 years ago. He handed it down to his son, Don Frederico, who perfected it, and then passed it down to his sons Federico and Carlos, who modernized it into the tequila that is 901 Silver Tequila today. The Blue Weber Agave plants used in 901 Silver Tequila are grown in the high altitude and sandy, volcanic soil of the Jalisco Highlands. 901 Silver Tequila is great over ice or in a variety of modern and classic cocktails.
