Next time you have brunch for friends, family or neighbors, make Monkey Bread. It’s a classic dish from when we were little. Full of bread, butter and sugar and so delicious.
Try it. It won’t disappoint. Then go for a run afterwards.
- 1 or 2 loaves of bread dough, frozen or canned would work
- 1 cup white sugar
- 2 teaspoons ground cinnamon
- 1/2 cup (1 stick) butter
- 1 cup packed brown sugar
- Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. Grease one 8×8 pan or baking dish.
- Mix white sugar and cinnamon in a plastic bag. Cut bread into small pieces. Shake pieces in the sugar cinnamon mix.
- Arrange pieces in the bottom of the prepared pan. Continue until all pieces are coated and placed in pan.
- In a small saucepan, melt the butter with the brown sugar over medium heat. Boil for 1 minute. Pour over the bread.
- Bake at 350 degrees F for 35 minutes. Let bread cool in pan for 10 minutes, then turn out onto a plate.
- The bread will pull apart.
I’ve always wanted to make monkey bread – it looks so delicious!!!!
Its the easiest! Colin and his friends would love it!!
