Next time you have brunch for friends, family or neighbors, make Monkey Bread. It’s a classic dish from when we were little. Full of bread, butter and sugar and so delicious.

Try it. It won’t disappoint. Then go for a run afterwards.

  • 1 or 2 loaves of bread dough, frozen or canned would work
  • 1 cup white sugar
  • 2 teaspoons ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 cup (1 stick) butter
  • 1 cup packed brown sugar
  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. Grease one 8×8 pan or baking dish.
  2. Mix white sugar and cinnamon in a plastic bag. Cut bread into small pieces. Shake pieces in the sugar cinnamon mix.
  3. Arrange pieces in the bottom of the prepared pan. Continue until all pieces are coated and placed in pan.
  4. In a small saucepan, melt the butter with the brown sugar over medium heat. Boil for 1 minute. Pour over the bread.
  5. Bake at 350 degrees F for 35 minutes. Let bread cool in pan for 10 minutes, then turn out onto a plate.
  6. The bread will pull apart.
