The weekend is the perfect time to change up your workout! If you have kids, you can most likely get some alone time on the weekend while your spouse has the kids, if you don’t you can take some time away from work to focus on yourself.

Here are a few weekend workout ideas to change things up:

1. Go for a long or family run: The weekend is the perfect time to go a little farther on your run. You have more time, more people are out and about and you can go at whatever time you like. If you have kids, throw them in the jogger and take turns pushing!

2. Try a new class: Gym and clubs has so many great classes to offer – try a new one! The weekend is a great time to go to a class you may not be able to attend during the week. Challenge yourself to try a new format! Spin, Yoga, Bootcamp, Interval, Pump or Barbell, and Pilates – to name a few!

3. Run a race: There are so many races this time of year. From 5Ks to Marathon’s, you can register for all types of races. Make sure you have a good training base before signing up, then enjoy running for a cause. The atmosphere and energy in races is motivating and contagious!

4. Try Tabata: Sometimes it’s harder to squeeze in a weekend workout because of a full social calendar, if that is the case – try Tabata training. These high intensity intervals will burn tons of fat and calories in a short amount of time, while taking your fitness to the next level.

5. Mow the lawn: Mowing the lawn is an awesome workout, especially at our house. We have a little mower, a big yard and a big hill. The best thing about mowing the lawn for your workout is you can cross two things off your weekend list when you are done. workout mow the lawn
