I was recently sent a box of Gevalia coffee to taste and review! I was so excited because I love coffee and this seemed like a fun giveaway for you!

There are mixed feelings about coffee and while I agree that too much caffeine is not a good thing, a cup in the morning is delicious and totally worth it. I admire people who used to drink coffee but have given it up. I remember being pregnant with Anna and not drinking coffee until the last trimester when I would let myself have a small cup.

Here are some fun facts about coffee: source

  • All coffee is grown within 1000 miles of the equator, from the Tropic of Cancer, to the Tropic of Capricorn.
  • Coffee is second only to oil as a commodity and second only to water as a beverage.
  • Coffee trees take three to four years to mature and bear fruit but they will produce for 20 to 30 years.
  • The Japanese bathe in coffee grounds mixed with fermented pineapple pulp to reduce wrinkles and improve skin tone.
  • In parts of Africa, coffee beans are soaked in water and spices, and chewed like candy. Yum!
  • Storing green coffee is greatly simplified by the fact that insects are naturally repelled by caffeine.
  • Oh, here’s a good one: Coffee is actually a fruit!

I brewed the coffee like I usually do, a little stronger than average. The grounds smelled strong but almost sweet.

The cup was delicious. It was smooth and not too strong but not at all mild. I don’t like mild coffee. I added my usual splash of creamer and it was perfect!

I can’t wait for someone to try it!
