It’s been a busy day. I taught a strength class this morning then met my mom and her friend for coffee with Anna. She had taken Anna on a walk while I taught class. After our coffee date at Panera, we stopped by Cindy’s to see how Addie, Reagan and Xan were doing. Anna played with them until it was time for lunch. After lunch, she crashed and I did the usual daily living tasks – laundry, organizing mail and so on.

Pretty soon the day had flown by and it was time for me to head to teach spinning. I just got home, showered, kissed Anna before Brady put her down, and devoured some leftovers in the form of a salad. It was a giant salad with avocado, tomatoes, lettuce, tofu, beans, sweet potato and kalamata olives (the new love of my life).

I can’t find my diaper bag with my camera in it to show you how many weeds I pulled – so you will have to wait on the edge of your seat for that! 🙂 Until then, a review of a delicious restaurant!

If you are ever in the DC area, check out this delicious restaurant! Founding Farmers. This restaurant is owned by the North Dakota Farmer’s Association and prides itself on good, wholesome, fresh food!

When you walk into the restaurant, you can’t help but notice all of natural light that is pouring through the floor-ceiling windows. Pickled veggies greet you as you make your way to the hostess table.

Looking up, you notice the natural decorations.

As you make your way into the restaurant, you can’t help but stare as you walk by the huge bar. It’s 11:30 am and the bartenders are busy mixing up spicy Bloody Mary’s and bubbly Mimosas.

Then you take your seat and are handed a menu – this is where things get difficult.

So many amazing choices and so little time. After much consideration and inner conflict, I decide. Roasted Vegetable and Avocado Sandwich on Multigrain bread.

While waiting for the food to arrive, I examined the utensils, which follow the North Dakota theme.

Soon enough, drinks come to the table. I am slightly disappointed I chose a fresh, hot coffee in place of this masterpiece:

But then beingets arrive and there is silence followed by moans at the table while everyone indulges.

Sweet, airy, doughy, eggy and warm perfection. With three dipping sauces – chocolate, raspberry and caramel. Divine.

Splitting the order between 8 left each of us with 1/2 of a treat. We debated ordering more but before we knew it our food was arriving. I stole pictures from around the table to help you make your decision on what to order easier.

Done and Done.

Overall, I loved the restaurant and am looking forward to going back when we are in town again!
