I recently had the pleasure of tasting and reviewing Manna bread.
When I got the package, I was surprised to feel how heavy the box was but how small the loaves of bread were. I was very intrigued to sample this dense delicious looking bread.
Here is a little info about Manna bread:
MANNA BREAD® is remarkably simple and wholesome, made entirely from sprouted organic grains, seeds, fruits & nuts. It contains no salt, leavening, yeast, oil, or sweeteners. By fully germinating our grains, we convert the starches into easily digested natural complex sugars, similar to those found in fresh fruits, hence the sweetness. The sprouts are ground and hand-shaped into loaves, baked at a low temperature, then packed and frozen to preserve shelf life, without any chemical additives.
The nutritional value is amazing – full of fiber with only a few ingredients.
I excitedly cut into the bread and was amazed by how you could see the wheat fibers and all of the raisins. The bread was so moist, it almost fell apart while I cut. The taste was like a cross between a doughy bran muffin and a sweet bread. It had lots of natural sweetness from all of the raisins in the Carrot Cake version.
The next cut I made was into the Fruit and Nut loaf. This loaf was PACKED with nuts and big pieces of fruit. It was amazing!
Anna loved this bread and I loved the fact that she felt like she was having dessert with this nutritious treat! I am already planning on buying some more when I stop at Whole Foods next week. It’s found in their freezer section.
