This weekend was an emotional one. It started with dinner for our friends from college at our house on Friday. That turned into a collegesque party at another one of our friends houses. I was the faithful DD.
Then we woke up on Saturday and headed to Wittenberg for homecoming. Brady played in the alumni soccer game and managed to crack his head against one of his best friend’s heads and have to leave the game gushing blood from the egg that had formed. Subs saved the day and then we watched OSU win their game. After that it was time for bar to reconnect to lots of great friends from the past. Overall, it was a great time seeing everyone and being together.

While Friday and Saturday were great, today was a really hard day. Shortly after waking up this morning I found out my Papa had passed away in the night. It is going to be an impossibly hard week. How do you go about saying goodbye to one of the most respectable, loving, hardworking, and honorable men in the world?
I don’t think you do. I think you just celebrate the 90 wonderful years he lived with family and friends together. That is what we will be doing this week.

I’m so sorry for you. I feel like life lessons are just never as easy as we expect them. We had a birth in our family this week, and it has just been amazing watching everyone’s personalities change around an 8-lb ball. Letting someone go is just so difficult.
