This weekend we went to Devil’s Lake in Michigan and had a great time! There were about 14 of us and everyone brought lots of good treats.
My list of things to bring included:
- ingredients for 7-layer dip: refried beans, guac, ff sour cream mixed with taco seasoning, black olives, tomatoes, scallions and 2% cheese
- Super Charge Me cookies – Eat Drink and Be Vegan recipe
- gin and diet tonic
- white wine
- salad ingredients: romaine, tomatoes, sweet peppers, carrots
- wheat berry salad
- pb
- peaches
This didn’t even come close to the amount of food that filled the house. It was like this list times 10! Everyone brought a ton of great snacks and fruits and veggies.
Brady and I headed out of Columbus around 5:30 on Friday night armed with Subway for the road. Even though we had t food when we got there, I knew I would not make it until 8:30 or 9pm.
I thought I had packed everything we needed:
- beach towels
- sun lotion
- suits
- clothes
- sweatshirts
- running clothes for the 10 miler
- clothes for Sat. night
- hair/bathroom stuff
- food
- air mattress
- sheets
- comforter
- blah blah bla
But I forgot Brady’s bookbag with his running shoes and flip flops and bathroom stuff in it. Oops!
So we made a Dick’s stop on the way and both got new NIKE Pegasus running shoes. It ended up being a good mistake because we needed them!
7 layer dip AND white wine? can i please come along? 🙂
