This week we celebrated our 4th wedding anniversary! It’s hard to believe that 4 years ago we were just getting married, we lived in Columbus and I was a full time teacher and there was not thought of Anna. Crazy how things have changed. It’s also hard to believe that it has been 10 years since we started dating and it was 10 years ago that we were in the beginning of our freshman year of college.

Thinking back on our wedding day, I thought it would be fun to share a few wedding day tips that we have learned from our own wedding and the weddings of close friends and family.

1. Remember who you are marrying when you get nervous or sick to your stomach.

I remember that people told me I would be crying and so emotional on my wedding day and walking down the aisle but this wasn’t the case. I was emotional in a good way and happy, but I wasn’t scared. I kept thinking “why would I be scared if the person at the end of the aisle is Brady, I am so excited!” (super cheesy, I know)

2. Make sure you eat something healthy, throughout the day.

With so much going on, it’s easy to forget and not be hungry but you need something light to keep your energy up all day!

3. Don’t leave your spouses side throughout the night.

Someone told us this and it was great advice. If you leave your spouse during the evening, each of you will be pulled in different directions by all of the friends and family you have that an hour can easily fly by before you get reconnected.

4. Concentrate on taking in every minute.

The night will go so fast and be done before you know it. Stop and look around so you take everything in.

5. Relax.

Everything will work out great! The more you can relax and enjoy yourself, the better for everyone!
