It was a great weekend. A great weekend that ended with delicious black bean burgers and grilled veggies in 65* degree warmth. Check out the recap for more silly pictures.

For the burgers, follow these simple steps.

1. Drain and rinse the can of black beans.

2. Smash the black beans with a fork until they are mashed well.

3. In your food processor or blender, ground 1/2 c. oats into a flour.

4. Then mix all ingredients into the beans combine well.

4. When the mixture is combined, place mixture in the fridge for 20-30 minutes.

5. When you are ready to eat, cook the patties for 4-5 minutes per side until golden brown.

6. Serve on a bun with all of the toppings.

Black Bean Burgers

Recipe slightly adapted from Peas and Thank You

  • 1 can black beans, drained and rinsed
  • 1/3 c. dehydrated onions and 1/3c. water
  • 1/2 c. oats, ground to a coarse texture
  • 1/2 t. salt
  • 2 t. cumin
  • 1 T. tahini
  • 1 T. soy sauce
  • 1 T. vegan Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 1/2 t. minced fresh garlic

Instructions

  • Mash beans in a bowl with a fork until chunky.
  • Stir in remaining ingredients and place in the fridge for a few minutes.
  • Saute the patties in a skillet sprayed with cooking spray, over medium high heat for about 4-5 minutes per side.

Then eat with a bun or without it.
