For Hallie’s bachelorette party dinner I wanted to make a simple centerpiece that was different and fun. My mom and I had seen this idea in a magazine a few years ago. The magazine was featuring it as a New Years Eve centerpiece, but we thought it would be fun to try for our girls night!
Step 1: Gather sticks from the yard or from old flower arrangements. I raided the yard and my mom’s basement for these. At first I was not sure we would want both styles but I couldn’t make a decision, so I went with both.
Lay them out on a sheet or cardboard that you can spray paint on.
Step 2: Decide on a color. Silver or black would be neat for an event but I went with white for the whole bridal thing. 🙂 Spray the sticks from every angle.
Step 3: Find a vase that will support the sticks. Then trim the sticks to fit into the vase and still stand up. Arrange them in different positions until it seems right to you.
Add bows, crystals, ribbon, beads, or anything else that goes with your theme. We thought the bows of sheer, sparkly ribbon were bridal and fun. They also went with the black tablecloth.
Step 4: Display and adjust. I moved a few sticks around to make sure it fit under the chandelier and the bows were evenly placed.
I think fresh flowers make the best centerpiece but it’s always fun to try something new and different! Plus the possibilities with spray painting sticks are endless. 🙂
i really appreciated the craft you did! i love this centerpiece 🙂
