I was recently given a bag of Mila (chia seed) to try and review. Before I share my thoughts, I thought I would share some information on the product.
“Mila is a whole raw food approved by the FDA, a blend of four premium chia seeds. It is all natural and organic, which means it is free of pesticides, fungicides, herbicides, and non-GMO (Genetically Modified Organism). It is gluten-free, trans-fat free, sugar-free, and high in fiber and protein. It has the highest and safest combination of Omega-3 fatty acids, antioxidants, and phytonutrients of any plant source on the planet.”
Mila comes in a resealable bag and is very finely ground. It is ordorless and doesn’t have much of a flavor. It can be added to smoothies, yogurt, oatmeal, pancakes, baked goods and more!
I have regular chia seeds (not ground) and I enjoy adding them to oatmeal and smoothies but they do get stuck in your teeth. I like that the Mila was so finely ground that it didn’t really change the texture (besides thickening or gelling a little) the food.
Overall, I think Mila is a great product with lots of nutritional benefits. I really like how it’s organic and specially grown. If you are interested in getting some more information about Mila, check out this page! Let me know if you are looking for more ideas for using ground chia seeds in your everyday meals!
Here are a few things we made:
Brady made Mila crusted hashbrowns.
Mila Crusted Hasbrowns
- 2 scoops of Mila
- 1 T. EVOO
- 3 baked potatoes, cubed
- Simply mix the cooked, cubed potatoes with EVOO and Mila.
- Stir gently to coat potatoes with the ground seeds
- Place potato mixture in a pan and heat until the potoates brown and Mila crusts. (It won’t get really crunchy like panko)
The toasted or stirfried Mila got a more nutty flavor that was really good on the potatoes!
Then we added it to chocolate granola bars! These bars had more of a cookie texture than a chewy granola bar and tasted amazing!

I think MILA from Lifemax is a wonderful product. Thanks for sharing your experience with this product.
This is the silliest product I have ever seen. Those comparisons: 6x more calcium than milk, 8x more omega-3 than salmon, 2 x more fiber than beans…. none of these, as far as I can tell, are based on dry weight. Any nutritionist, even crappy ones, should understand that you can’t compare foods until you take away the water. Imagine 2Tbs of Mila mixed with 10 oz of water…. suddenly on a gram by gram basis, those numbers would not look so good. But the directions say take with water. This is all bollocks. I think that Pollan has it right. Eat food. Not too much. Mostly vegetables.
this product is not certified organic ….
thanks for the info! I will change that!
