Andrew made some wings for the fam this weekend. They were a huge hit! While I didn’t try the wings, I practically drank the sauce. I was sopping it up with my pizza crusts! It would be a great sauce for veggies and brown rice or pot stickers.

5 Spice Chicken Wings
  • 1 1/2 tsp. minced garlic
  • 1 1/2 tsp. Chinese five-spiced powder
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 1 1/2 soy sauce
  • 3 lb.(16 wings) chicken wings
  1. Preheat broiler and oil rack of a broiler or cookie sheet, covered with foil and sprayed with Pam.
  2. Stir together garlic, 5-spice powder, salt and soy sauce in large bowl
  3. Cut off tips from wings (discard) and halve wings at joint. Pat dry and add to spice mixture, tossing to coat. Best if you can marinate for 2-3 hours.
  4. Arrange wings in one layer on a sheet and broil turning over once – until browned and cooked through (15-20 min.)

Green Onion-Ginger Dipping Sauce

  • 1/2 c. soy sauce
  • 1/2 c. thinly sliced green onions
  • 2 T finely chopped fresh cilantro
  • 1 1/2 tsp. finely chopped ginger
  • 1 1/2 tsp. hot chili sesame oil

*if you don’t have this, 1 tsp. of chili oil and 1/2 tsp. of sesame oil

Whisk all ingredients in small bowl to blend. Can be prepared one day ahead – cover and refrigerate.
