Andrew made some wings for the fam this weekend. They were a huge hit! While I didn’t try the wings, I practically drank the sauce. I was sopping it up with my pizza crusts! It would be a great sauce for veggies and brown rice or pot stickers.

5 Spice Chicken Wings
- 1 1/2 tsp. minced garlic
- 1 1/2 tsp. Chinese five-spiced powder
- 1 tsp. salt
- 1 1/2 soy sauce
- 3 lb.(16 wings) chicken wings
- Preheat broiler and oil rack of a broiler or cookie sheet, covered with foil and sprayed with Pam.
- Stir together garlic, 5-spice powder, salt and soy sauce in large bowl
- Cut off tips from wings (discard) and halve wings at joint. Pat dry and add to spice mixture, tossing to coat. Best if you can marinate for 2-3 hours.
- Arrange wings in one layer on a sheet and broil turning over once – until browned and cooked through (15-20 min.)
Green Onion-Ginger Dipping Sauce
- 1/2 c. soy sauce
- 1/2 c. thinly sliced green onions
- 2 T finely chopped fresh cilantro
- 1 1/2 tsp. finely chopped ginger
- 1 1/2 tsp. hot chili sesame oil
*if you don’t have this, 1 tsp. of chili oil and 1/2 tsp. of sesame oil
Whisk all ingredients in small bowl to blend. Can be prepared one day ahead – cover and refrigerate.
