There were so many things to do in San Diego that it was hard to choose what made it into our 4 day itinerary. The beach was a definite, as was La Jolla, Coronodo Island, and a visit to the seals on the rocky Pacific shore. Other activities were up in the air, but we ended up deciding to go to the San Diego Zoo because it’s world famous we didn’t want to do a big park with a 3 year old and 3 month old. We figured we would save Sea World and Legoland for another trip when both girls were a little older.
On our way, we stopped at Trader Joe’s to load up on healthier snacks and wine for after our trip. 🙂 As good as the “zebra safari burger” sounds, bananas and Clif Bars were a good way to go.
It was the perfect day for the zoo, 70’s and sunny. And it turnedout to be the perfect activity for all of us.
Anna walked around admiring all the anmials for the entire 3.5 hours we were there.
Kate loved everything as well!
She was particularly impressed with the size of this guy…
And Anna loved his talent of posing for pictures with bite-sized little girls.
Feeling brave, she decided she may as well ride the hippo as well.
We followed every winding path through the great exhibits.
And the special features of the animals……
We did everything we could,
Until someone couldn’t make it any further.
And before we were out of the parking lot, Anna was sound asleep.
I’m so glad we got to meet and spend time together last weekend! I’m living it all again through your photos 🙂
