For the pasta night last night I decided to make homemade meatballs. I checked out a few recipes – including one of my own that I have used before. I did a mix of a Cooking Light recipe and my own. I wanted to keep it simple so here is what I did:
Homemade Meatballs
- 1 lb. Laura’s Lean Ground Beef
- 1 egg
- 1/2 -2/3 c. panko bread crumbs
- salt and pepper
- Italian seasonings
- parmesan cheese
- garlic powder
- Mix all ingredients together and form small balls.
- Bake at 375 for about 20-25 minutes.
- Toss the warm balls into sauce and serve over hot pasta!
Enjoy!
Your meatballs look like they turned out super good. I have to admit, making meatballs is one of my least favorite things–I think because I made SO many growing up in an all Italian family!

Man, my grandmother was Italian and she made the most delicious meatballs I ever tasted, like you wouldnt believe. Sadly, she didnt leave a recipe for us so I’ve been trying to work it out by myself… slowly working my through the meatball recipes here, I still cant figure out what her secret ingredient was though!!!
