Sorry for being MIA all weekend. I hadn’t really planned on it but it just happened. Here is a brief recap.
Friday night we went out to dinner with John and Ashley. We ended up going to a place in the Short North called Black Olive. It had a great menu of “contemporary American” cuisine. We split the hummus appetizer which was about 2 tablespoons of hummus and 8 small crackers. It was really tasty though. Then I had a portabello mushroom burger for dinner. It was great! Wish I had a picture. 🙁 After dinner, we went to Burgundy Room, so everyone could have a few drinks and I could sample their water.:) It was a great night with wonderful company!
Saturday morning I made to 8:30am spinning. I was proud of myself for going and getting it over with. Then I hit up Target for some random things I didn’t need, and a few things I did – maternity fitted long sleeve t-shirts to wear with jeans.
I made it home in time for a quick shower before Hallie arrived! She was in town for the night and spent the day with me. We shopped at Easton but it was packed and we didn’t end up getting much. Our big purchase, or I should say Hallie’s big purchase (thanks, Hal!) was on two cups of “rare” tea. The Teavanna tea was amazing, but I am shocked that they get away charging almost $6 a cup. Ridiculous, but fun and delicious!
After shopping, I came home to shower and get ready for a night out with Brady’s parents. It was a very adult night out. 🙂 We went to an auction at Brady’s highschool, St. Charles. I was not expecting the event to be so huge and elaborate, those all boys Catholic schools really know how to fundraise! There were at least 600 people there, all decked out. There had to have been at least 200 items for auction. It was very impressive! We had a nice dinner and a couple plates of dessert(I could not stop myself from going to the enormous dessert bar and filling up a plate, twice). Brady and I didn’t win anything but his parents did. It was a really fun night!
Then today was great too! We woke up and I went on a 5 mile walk with my neighbor in the 26 degree weather. Then came home to go to church with Brady at 11am. After that we ran errands and I wrapped Christmas gifts while he put the lights on our house – a much easier task than last year. 🙂
Then we headed to dinner at Brady’s parents. I took a few pictures of the delicious meal but can’t find me camera cord. It was salad, rice, broccoli and stuffed chicken breast. The chicken was stuffed with “spinach ball” mix. The spinach balls are a family recipe so I will see if I can get it to post for tomorrow. It was great! I loved the spinach balls!
We wrapped up the night with a visit to Katie and Kurt! Katie is having knee surgery tomorrow. She is next on my deliver dinner list!
And finally we came home and cleaned up. Brady went to his 9:45 pm soccer game and I got in bed with hot chocolate!
See you tomorrow, when this will resume as a food blog filled with recipes and photos, not a minute by minute journal of my life. 🙂
Hope your weekend was great!
