Who doesn’t want to know how to burn fat and feed muscle? I was recently given the opportunity to review this book, and couldn’t wait to find out what Tom Venuto had to say. I love the tag line – the secrets of the leanest people in the world.

As I got into the book, I was very impressed by the way Tom backed up everything he had to say with experiences and science. The book is easy to read and very comprehensive.
The book is broken down into two parts: Part 1- Philosophy and Part 2 – The L.E.A.N Plan of Action. Within these two parts, Venuto covers everything from understanding calories to breaking through plateaus and setting goals. His writing is motivating in itself because it feels like he is talking to you and explaining his plan. He makes you feel like there is no reason you too can’t be one of the leanest people in the world.
I love that Venuto’s “secrets” are not diet pills, extreme caloric limits, or 5 hours of exercise each day. The secrets are in his explanation of why people fail to meet goals and how to avoid these mistakes. They are in the chapters about setting goals that are attainable and how to plan for success.
This book is about making lifestyle changes and sticking to them. It’s realistic and useful. It will change the way you think.
I would highly recommend this book to anyone who is serious about getting healthy or those looking to fine-tune their current programs.
