I was recently sent a sample of Vega Complete Whole Food Heath Optimizer. After teaching Spinning class yesterday I made a shake with it. I used about a cup of almond milk, a chai flavored Vega packet and some ice.

Since I am all about comparison charts lately, here are the stats of this shake. Vega Whole Food Health Optimizer is a meal replacement, made exclusively from plant-based whole food ingredients. In just one serving of Vega Whole Food Health Optimizer you get:

·         Vitamin E= 23 cups of Spinach

·         Protein = 4 farm fresh eggs

·         Fiber = 7 slices of Whole Wheat Bread

·         Iron = 29 oz. of Beef

·         Chlorophyll= 1 head of Lettuce

·         Calcium = 5 cups of Milk

·         Potassium= 6 Bananas

·         Omega 3 = 6 oz. Wild Salmon

“ = ” denotes equivalence.

Overall, I thought it was really good! You can taste the difference between a plant based protein and a whey. Plant based proteins have a distinct “earthy taste” compared to whey. I think this shake would make a great on-the-go breakfast or mid-afternoon snack. I am so impressed with everything they packed into it!
