Big day in our house.
In exciting news, our great friends Jen and Duke welcomed a little baby boy into the world today. We can’t wait to meet Baby Harrison Brian this weekend!
In celebration of Baby Harrison’s birth we bought a new couch! This couch buying process has been going on for a few weeks and is not an easy decision. We decided on one from Macy’s, without the chaise.

3 more days.
Despite the balmy 58 degrees in Cleveland on Dec. 22, it’s feeling more like Christmas. Yesterday was filled with holiday parties. The parties kicked off with a cooking baking party at my house in the afternoon, then after a quick bite of homemade pizza, we headed to the neighborhood caroling party last night. We cut out early (around 9pm) to go to Cindy and Tom’s and meet my brother who had just flown in from San Fran.

The days have gotten colder and the desire for hot, chunky soup has gotten stronger. Yesterday, after a week of freezing rain, was the lucky day. I chopped and chopped until I had a huge pot of fresh veggies, then I added some veggie broth (low sodium) and a few spices. After simmering on the stove for a while I was left with this colorful, cozy bowl.

One of our Thanksgiving appetizers this year was a delicious soup that my cousin Patty made! It may not be the healthiest (cream/butter) but it tasted great and would make a perfect warm dinner, paired with a fresh salad.

Tamara’s Pea Soup
2 bags of frozen, organic peas 1-2 large onions, diced 2 c. water 4 sprigs of fresh mint Simmer 2 bags of peas with the diced onion in 2 cups of water for about 10 minutes. Pulse the peas and onions in a food processor until chunky.

After work and school we headed to Grandview to meet Katie and Kurt and a few other friends for drinks and dinner at Brazenhead. I had great portobello quesadilla and a salad. Everyone enjoyed drinks and we had fun catching up on life, babies and weddings!
