It could turn green in time, but after what I did to my lettuce, I would not consider myself to have a green thumb yet! Although maybe a red thumb – I have done a good job with those tomatoes(proof in pictures tonight!!) In good time.

]]> So I have been having some troubles in my garden that I was a little ashamed to share. I decided I might as well share and see if anyone can help me.

The problem is I don’t know why some of the plants in my garden are growing out of control. I used an organic plant food called Platitone at the beginning of the planting – a few months ago and I have not put anything on the plants since then.

I think one of the problems is that I didn’t/don’t know when to pick the harvest…Check this out.

How does your garden grow?

With silver bells, and cockle shells,

And pretty maids all in a row.

I thought this poem was fitting because it was my Nana’s name and she had the best garden of anyone I have ever met. She passed away in February and I am growing my garden in honor of her (I have a feeling she is helping me out :)

My poem would be more like:

Ali, Ali of the valley,

How does your garden grow?

With broccoli and cucumbers,

And lettuce all in a row.

  • butternut squash

  • peppers
