Hungry Girl Tested Recipes

Emily and I tested a few recipes from Hungry Girl’s 200 Under 200 Cookbook. While I feel that many of the recipes have too many processed foods and ingredients, there are many that seem great!

Recipe # 1: Faux Fried Mozz Sticks

Emily went through the cookbook and picked out the recipes we tried yesterday. She is a big mozzarella stick fan!

Pizza Pizza!

Last night our good friends John and Ashley came over for dinner! It was pouring rain and gross outside so we decided against the cookout and opted for make your own pizzas! John and Ash brought a delicious bottle of Riesling, that tasted like summer!

While we sipped, we made two great pizzas – a his and a hers. Then we started on the sides while the pizzas were cooking!

Painting and His/Her Paninis

This weekend was full of painting and paninis! Yesterday, we woke up and got started on the painting we had planned to do.

The Panini Party Continues for Breakfast

This morning, we woke up and spotted the panini maker sitting on the counter from last.  We immediately wanted another panini, so that’s what we made for breakfast!

Hers:

egg whites slice of smoked turkey feta spinach tomato sprouted wheat bread

His:

eggs smoked turkey tomato spinach Colby-Jack cheese

Make your own pizza night!

Yesterday we did a lot of cleaning around my parents house.  I got rid of things from middle school and we took care of our Christmas stuff that was lying around. We cleaned up to get ready for the cleaning lady, and then she canceled – bummer!!

After a 5 mile run with Brady, I had a bowl of oatmeal.  It was warm and filling with a huge scoop of almond butter!

Rewind to Girls Night…

So, Thursday we had a girls night at my house!  A few girls from my college sorority, who now live in Columbus,  came over for drinks and  holiday treats!  We had a great time!!

Brie:

1 round of brie 1/2 c. raspberry jam 1/3 c. pecans 1 pillsbury cresent roll reduced fat

Roll out the cresent rolls and set brie on top.  Cover brie with nuts and jam.  Bake at 350 until roll is golden brown and brie is melty.
