Week 1 of Marathon Training is getting started!  

We are following Hal Higdon’s plan that includes 3 days of running a week.  

Here is what the plan suggests: 

Monday:  rest

Tuesday:  3 mile run

Wednesday: 30 min. bike

Thursday: 3 mile pace run

Friday: rest

Saturday: 6 mile run

Sunday: 60 min. cross train

 Here is what my workouts this week will probably look like: 

Monday: Rest

Tuesday: TRX and Running interval workout – 60 minutes

Wednesday:  teach 45 minute spin class and 45 minute weights/core class

Thursday: teach 60 minute spin/circuit class

Friday: teach spin/weight interval class

Saturday: Run 6 miles

Sunday: Run 4 miles

Brady’s workouts will probably look more like the planned schedule.  We are planning to do all long runs together on the weekends.  Hopefully not always pushing the kids. 🙂

Fitting in training with the classes I teach will be a little challenging but I am excited to start running more.  Have you run a marathon?  What suggestions or tips do you have for us?!
