We celebrated Anna’s 3rd birthday last weekend with lots of family, friends and fun!  After trying to decide what type of decorations to do for her party, I decided to keep it simple and go with a pink + white theme – with plenty of “A’s”.  Anna had originally wanted a full blown Diego party, complete with all of the animals he rescues as well as his famous rescue pack, but I managed to carefully convince her that pink + white would be great (and much more doable).

I made a giant A cake, which Anna loved.  It was a two layers of dense white cake with real butter cream in the middle.

And I did cupcakes for all of the kids.

The decorations were simple flowers and pink accents.

We found these fun pin wheels to put on the table at JoAnn Fabrics.

And I used my classic pewter dishes because they go with everything and hold a ton of food!

Anna’s birthday sign I made for her first birthday party was perfect for this party theme!

For dinner, I had some kid friendly choices mixed into the meal.

I served pepperoni and spinach pizza bread with tomato sauce for dipping.  This was a hit for both kids and adults!  There wasn’t a piece left.

The main dish was grilled chicken using this marinade (our family favorite) to put on caesar salad or pesto pasta.

And caesar salad that missed somehow.

Dessert was cake and then these little treat bags the kids could make.  It wasn’t fancy but it did the trick.

And we had a happy birthday girl!
