It’s always hard to figure out what toys to get for your child or what to tell someone who asks you for an idea for the little one. I rely on my cousins and friends to give me a heads up on what Anna will be ready for soon, what toys are worth it and what brands are best. I would love your feed back if you have toys you like or feel are worthwhile! I would like to post a weekly toy feature to help other moms and toy buyers. 🙂

Some of Anna’s favorite toys relate to the kitchen – her kitchen to be exact. Surprise, surprise, right!

I love all Melissa and Doug toys and their kitchen/food toys are no different. (I don’t work for Melissa and Doug and have not been given anything to write about their products – although that would be nice! 🙂

Melissa and Doug Cutting Food:

Anna loves the cutting food. She can spend quite a bit of time cutting the food up and putting it back together.

Melissa and Dough Fridge Food .

This is usually found in her purse and is fun to play with because it’s wooden and therefore a little heavy. She loves this more than I thought she would. There is also

Melissa and Doug Birthday Cake

If you want your kids to sing happy birthday to anyone and everyone on a regular basis, this is the toy for you. It’s great because it can be decorate and served!

Melissa and Doug Slice and Bake Cookie Set.

This comes with the spatula, oven mit and pan for the velcro cookies to be “baked” on. It’s a great toy for boys or girls.

KidKraft Kitchen

Such a great kitchen! This one has a phone, microwave, oven with moveble dials, fridge, freezer and sink. The only problem is that the fridge and oven are not very deep. This is good for space but it doesn’t fit the Melissa and Dough cookie sheet. Luckily the cupcakes fit in the microwave – so it’s all good.

Little Tykes Shopping Cart

My mom has the same one, so does Patty and Cindy. It’s a huge favorite. It’s easy to push, holds a lot and doesn’t hurt too bad when it falls over.

Real kitchen things.

I often give Anna real bowls and spatulas or spoons. She knows they are real and gets so excited to use them! Also, things like dried beans, soup packets or other lightweight pantry staples are perfect for play!
