Despite the balmy 58 degrees in Cleveland on Dec. 22, it’s feeling more like Christmas. Yesterday was filled with holiday parties. The parties kicked off with a cooking baking party at my house in the afternoon, then after a quick bite of homemade pizza, we headed to the neighborhood caroling party last night. We cut out early (around 9pm) to go to Cindy and Tom’s and meet my brother who had just flown in from San Fran.

How’s your week before Christmas going? Ours started this morning with my interval class. Then to have lunch with Addie + Emmie before coming home to cook all afternoon. Soon it was time to head to class #2 – spinning. I dropped Anna off at Brady’s Grandmas while I went to teach and he picked her up. After a short stop at Trader Joe’s, I came home and showered. On Saturday when we went to Luxe, a fun restaurant near the shoreway on the West Side. While there, I ordered a salad that I couldn’t stop thinking about. It’s not too often I meet a salad combo I haven’t tried so I was excited about this.
It had spinach, black quinoa, roasted beets, goat cheese and almonds. So tonight when I re-created it.

I can’t believe I don’t have many pictures from this weekend. It seemed to fly by so fast because it was packed with a mixture of getting Christmas things done and playing and having fun.
Friday night we had Addie while Cindy and Tom went out. We watched a little Mickey’s Christmas with the girls after our pizza party with the girls.
Then Saturday I worked out at my parents and we got stuff done in the morning.

Can you believe it’s the Saturday before Christmas? So hard to believe. We have a few inches of fresh fluffy white snow and it finally feels like Christmastime. Presents are getting wrapped, cards are being sent and we are going out to dinner with friends tonight. So far, a good weekend.
