Did you know that June is almost over? How can this be?

Did you know that we are heading to Maryland this weekend?

Did you know that I love popcorn?

Did you know that if you don’t have a microwave (who doesn’t have a microwave?) you can cook it on the stove.

Desperate times call for desperate measures.

The other night when Brady and I were watching No Strings Attached – cute movie – we were both dying for some popcorn. Since we hadn’t yet gotten our microwave, we had no way to cook a pouch of deliciously sweet and salty popcorn. I immediately went searching for our air popper, which was nowhere to be found. This caused slight panic, but then I came up with a solution. Attempt popping it on the stove.

I layered my pot with enough kernels to cover the bottom of the pan.

About a Tbsp. of oil would be good in this situation. You could use more if you would like, but you don’t need to.

Cook the kernels on med-high heat until they start to pop.

Once a few start to pop, start vigorously shaking the pot back and forth until the kernals are all popped. This will keep them from sitting on the bottom of the pan and burning. It’s wise to keep the lid on during this process!:)

A few sprays of butter and some salt and pepper and you are good to go!
