Memorial Day weekend is one of my favorite weekends of the year because it’s full of family, friends and fun. It’s the first weekend of summer and gets everyone excited for the upcoming months. It’s also opening season for wearing white and eating berries.

Our Sunday night activity for Memorial Day weekend is always the annual Rib Cook Off at our good friends the Mackeys. This year was the 7th annual competition held between great friends and family. Check out last year’s event when Anna was only 4 weeks old!!

Rib Cook Off 2010

There are 10 teams in the competition and no one is allowed to be added unless someone drops out, so we are able to keep things organized. Each team is fighting for a chance to take this trophy and bragging rights home for the year.
