When my mom and I were making our list for the store we tried to think about the essentials we would want for the week. Some things we knew we would want:
- wine
- coffee
- creamer
- yogurt (I eat plain with protein all of the time)
- peanut butter
- fruit
- veggies
The rest of the stuff we bought was to make meals for lunches and dinners. While our original idea was to do take out dinners, we quickly threw that idea out because our cooking tastes better than take out.
The rest of what we got was partially thought out and partially because we were starving while we shopped.
But for $110 we got enough food for both of us to eat healthy meals for 4 days(this includes 3 bottles of wine!!). We got:
- plain yogurt
- feta cheese
- grocery store pizza
- bacon
- 6 eggs
- sprat butter
- broccoli slaw
- 2 bags of romaine
- fudgecicles
- Boca burgers
- whole wheat bread
- guacamole
- brussel sprouts
- apples
- sweet potatoes
- bananas
- onions
- good seasons dressing
- brown rice
- oatleam
- pb
- popcorn
- dijion mustard
From home I brought almonds, protein powder
and oats!
Back tomorrow with what meals we made with this mess!
I love having a fridge and kitchen on vacatio so I can stock up on food and make most of my own meals. Looks like you did a greatbjob. Hope you are having acwonderful time! I haven’t had much time for commenting, but I’ve been reading still 🙂
We try very hard to eat healthy with a few dinner-out exceptions. I bring extra supplies for the kitchenette and plan healthy grocery lists. After perfecting this for several years, I wrote a little book about it to help others, Healthy Travel Cooking, available on Amazon or at http://www.creatinghealthymeals.com
Thanks and Happy Trails!
