Strangely Delicious & Fiberful!

Today went fast, but my kids with Halloween just around the corner.  I did a pumpkin project with them today, which they loved.  We wrote about pumpkins, read about pumpkins, talked about pumpkins and carved a pumpkin (not a jack-o-lantern )  Some of them had never touched the inside of a pumpkin, so they loved cleaning out the guts! They brainstormed many names but voted to name our pumpkin “Homeboy”.  I thought it was an interesting choice.

All 3 Meals

I have not posted all three of my meals in a while because I just have not had time or they have been repeats and leftovers. But today, I have had three original meals all worthy of being posted.

I started my morning with an early workout and then I came home to get ready for school, and EAT! My breakfast was oatmeal with cran-apple relish, banana and H20. It was a pretty pink.

BSI: Cran-Apple Mashed Sweet Potatoes

It all started with some simple cranberry-apple relish. Chopped cranberries (in my little food processor) + chopped apple + a little honey + 15 min on the stove = delicious cran-apple relish! I made this to add to oatmeal and yogurt this week. I was going to submit it to Gina at Fitnessista the BSI contest, but it was too simple, I thought.

Oktoberfest…the beer

So at our party each year, we have everyone bring a different type of beer.  We then take the beer and assign each type a letter.  We pour the beer into dixie cups for everyone to taste and rate on a scale of 1 -5.  1 being you want to gag/puke and 5 being you would order a pint or 2 or 3.  This year we had no duplicates!!  It was great.  Here is a pic of each entry.
